SOFTWARE™ RECEIVES DEMO GOD AWARD AT MOBILE INSIGHTS 2000
CONFERENCE
Key Industry Influencers Recognize Informal Software As Computing
Innovator For enotate™ Software Solution

SANTA
CLARA, Calif. (3/13/00) — Informal Software, Inc.,
today announced that it received a prestigious Bronze Demo God Award
at the Mobile Insights 2000 Conference last week for its enotate
software. It was selected by approximately 400 top analysts, members
of the press and high-profile vendors who attended the conference.
Informal Software’s debut software product, enotate, turns
a stylus-based device, such as 3Com’s Palm connected organizer,
into an indispensable tool for everyday computing by transforming
it into a direct, real-time extension to the PC. With enotate, Informal
Software allows users, for the first time, to annotate text, sketch
ideas and draw directly onto their PC just as they would with traditional
pen and paper.
Mobile
Insights, Inc., is a professional services firm located in Mountain
View, California, that focuses on the mobile computing and data
communications industry. The recipients of the Demo God Awards are
determined by an attendee vote. When judging candidates for the
Demo God Awards, attendees consider demonstration content and the
quality of the product presentations given at the Mobile Insights
2000 conference, held last week in Palm Desert, Calif.
"We’re
thrilled to receive this prestigious award," said Ian Cullimore,
Informal Software’s president and CEO. "The positive
reception of enotate at Mobile Insights 2000 validates our effort
to fundamentally change the PC computing experience by making it
a more informal and intuitive process. enotate significantly expands
the functionality of the Palm connected organizer, enabling it to
be used in new and innovative ways, and we’re looking forward
to bringing this product to the marketplace."
About
enotate
By turning the handheld device into the electronic analog of pen
and paper, Informal Software’s enotate software allows PC
users to communicate like never before in the most natural and informal
manner possible. For the first time, users are able to sketch ideas,
create handwritten notes and digitally annotate documents, presentations,
digital photos, and more using their handheld devices as the ideal
"4th peripheral." enotate software has redefined the use
of the stylus-based device by taking it to another level, adding
new value to a tool consumers already use on a daily basis. enotate
will be available for download from Informal Software’s Web
site at the beginning of the second quarter for $49.99.
About
Informal Software
Informal Software, Inc., founded in 1998, provides innovative software
solutions that enable a stylus-based device, such as 3Com’s
PalmPilot, to be used as a direct PC input/output device alongside
the traditional keyboard, mouse, and display. Unlike pen tablets,
drawing/sketching software packages or other pen-based computing
solutions, Informal Software’s unique "Informal Interface"
allows these stylus-based devices to interact naturally with a personal
computer in a manner analogous to the comfortable "pen and
paper" model. Informal Software’s enotate allows PC-based
electronic documents, sketches, and/or digital photos/drawings to
be "marked up" and/or annotated in real-time, directly
from a stylus-based device. In addition, enotate allows initial
concepts such as informal sketches, layouts, drawings, maps, etc.
to be expressed in a natural fashion on an electronic medium. With
enotate, users will for the first time, be able to naturally and
intuitively represent and communicate electronically the true "gist"
of information, messages, thoughts and statements using a digital
document or image.Learn more about the Santa Clara-based company
