and Pocket PC, using wireless 802.11b and outlines future Bluetooth
strategy.
Highlights
latest version of software, enotate v1.2 with added support for
USB and Mac, and new PowerPoint Presenter function.
March
12, 2001 - Informal Software will showcase the latest addition
to its product portfolio, enotate v1.2, alongside wireless demonstrations
of 802.11b and future plans for Bluetooth at Stand C39, Hall 13,
CeBIT 2001.
Informal
Software's enotate transforms personal digital assistants (PDAs)
into the electronic equivalent of 'pen and paper', making full use
of the PDA's stylus and pad. It allows individuals to sketch ideas,
create handwritten notes and electronically annotate Microsoft Office
software, digital photos and more, in real time, thereby turning
PDAs into a '4th peripheral' to be used alongside the traditional
mouse, keyboard and display.
Ian
Cullimore, president and CEO, Informal Software, said: "Given
the communication challenges presented by many of today's modern-day
computing products, we are working to address a distinct market
need for both consumers and business professionals to more effectively
interact with the tools that they have at their disposal."
Informal
Software's enotate v1.2 software allows users to create free-hand
sketches and to annotate Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides,
Word documents and digital images by employing true electronic writing
via PDAs, such as Palm, Handspring and Pocket PC.
enotate
software simplifies the entire human/computer interactive experience
by going back to the roots of communication. It makes the communication
process 100 per cent electronic, enabling people to work in the
way that they want to work, thereby maintaining workflow and increasing
productivity for consumers and business users alike.
As
well as the exciting wireless capabilities that this product will
offer, Informal Software will also be demonstrating enotate for
the Macintosh platform at CeBIT this year. This new addition to
the product suite will enable users to carry out all the functions
of enotate v1.2 on the Mac. This further demonstrates Informal Software's
vision and dedication to pioneer platform agnostic software solutions,
and addresses the apparent market demand for simplified collaboration
tools for vertical markets, such as graphics and digital photography,
already available as standard on Mac computers.
Other
forthcoming products Informal Software will be demonstrating at
CeBIT include enotate for the Pocket PC and enotate Presenter for
PowerPoint, a dedicated application for frequent users of PowerPoint.
